Painters, actors, artists and writers stayed in Saint-Tropez, which was at the beginning a Corsair city, then a fishing village, afterwards a seaside city and finally a place for the jet set.

But from 1955, Saint-Tropez will be known wolrdwide thanks to the film "Et Dieu créa la femme" ("And God Created Woman") with two young actors, Brigitte Bardot and Jean-Louis Trintignant.

Finally to eat, beach restaurants such as Club 55, les Palmiers, l'Esquinade or in the village itself, such as the famous Sénéquier on the port, le Café de Paris, le Tigrr, le Girelier and many others will welcome you with pleasure.

The museums of l’Annonciade, la Gendarmerie and le Cinema, as well as the Maritime History museum in the Citadelle, will improve your knowledge of the history of this village that Françoise Sagan called "her island".
